There is so much to that needs to be changed, and only you and I and your neighbors can do it.
85 percent of the entire world population now, before and being born are dumber than a box of rocks. They don't want facts or truth. Its to hard to think, to question.
There are only a hand full of absolute truths relating to humans. And nothing worth a damn stands in isolation of each other. Different events and incidents tie into your life like it or not.
Even though our elected officials prefer you to look at life in isolation. Taxes, immigration, education, health care, national defense. Buzz words, that get discussed separately are all inter connected. Not because I say so, but because they are. There is only so much energy, time, money available for items or policies, and even if you discuss them separately, the decisions about what to do about one impacts an other.
Just a reminder, I am a MODERATE middle of the road Republican. I like money. I vote for what I think is best for ME. But I like to think that in considering what is best for me, helping other people that I don't know will benefit me in the long term. I point this out because lately my political leanings are decidedly democratic. That is only as long as their platform helps ME.
The next time you hear the "Tea Skank " party or any party talk about too much regulation ruining the economy, remind them that Clinton a democrate removed more regulations that Bush 2.0 ( Jr) had a chance to do. That along with tax INCREASES had the highest projected budget increase in the last 50 years. However reality set in and the 85 percent rule took control The reduction of controls along with the none enforcement of the controls lead to this depression ( stop calling it a recession )
Bush Jr. removed more important regulations allowing the damage to be more server than did his Daddy Bush senior or Reagan and proving that he Bush Jr. could do lots more harm with less than did Clinton.
I know I said this already, but its very important and its needed to remove the myths being passed around in political folk law. Lending money when a person or company pretty much cant pay it back and they pretty much tell you they cant pay it back is stupid, stupidity beyond belief, but we did that. Gave it fancy names and continued to do it.
But My blog my target of the day. Everyone's favorite topic, gas prices. I love the "drill if you love America crowd" lets deal with reality. If you believe we should get ever ounce of oil out of the ground, hey that is your opinion, but even you need to deal with reality. Think about this, this isn't because I say so, this is reports by your God Fearing Oil companies and some very simple math.
About 80 percent of all the oil leaving Alaska never sees the US shores once it leave Alaska, because the true patriots of the oil industry are soooo very freedom loving that the oil gets sold over seas, so no matter how much they drill in Alaska, our prices will not come down, get over it.
We Americans should be proud of our selves, ( although I understand why its not being talked up ) We in the US are finally using less oil now than we did 2 years ago. Yes fuel efficiency and conservation we are using less fuel, in fact we are now increasing our exports and we have idle refinery capacity because we cant use all the refined oil out there. Be proud America. And those prices that have slipped all the way back to 3.65 a gallon??? Well not in New York or most of California, but in "Dumb Brain USA". they have dropped????
I picked prices pretty much looking for the high price of oil and than average of gas in the US.
in the year 2000 oil was $58.87 per barrel and gasoline at the pump was $ 1.80
Forward to 2011 a barrel of oil is roughly 88.82 and gasoline is $4.00 a gallon. Inflation from the year 2000 to 2011 all added up is 33 percent.
The price of a barrel of oil went up 34 % the price of gasoline went up 55 % and inflation went up 33 %percent. Ask the drill baby drill team why adjusting for inflation gas should only cost $2.39 not $ 4.00.
Oh wait its OPEC, those foreign Muslims Communist Terrorist Nazis driving up the price of OUR oil and gasoline. But, last time any one checked, we get 80 percent of our oil from ( wait for it ) Canada, With about 10 percent from Mexico, Venezuela ( yes the commie bast...d) and about 10 percent from across the ocean with a good piece from Nigeria. How does 10 or even 20 percent of our oil supplied by people who hate us equate with 88 to 100 dollars a barrel for oil ??? Well even our bestest friends ever, who love us to pieces, believe in the American free market system, so who ever pays the most gets the oil. Even Canada ayyy... sells it at what ever they can get.
Now before you 5 percent dumber hop into your pick up trucks and head north "...ta teech dem heathen Cannedaduns a lesson" keep in mind the oil in Oklahoma and Texas, etc is also leaving our shores for the top dollar too. While your at it, you should be asking why, the price of natural gas which is almost entirely collected right hear in the Good ol US of A, goes up ever time OPEC raises its prices
So what has this to do with politics??? Your didn't really ask that did you ? Beyond the energy industry buying the votes of our elected officials at ever level of government. These people ( if they weren't bought ) could legislate taxes on excessive revenue collected by energy companies. Yes I know that was suggested before and the politicians voted it down...gee I wonder why??
The politicians can decide what is a fair price considering it is a monopoly , yes it is, don't get into that.
They can fund alternative energy to remove the need for fossil fuels. They can push other industry to find higher efficiency products, in transportation as well as manufacturing, and give those that do it, tax benefits.
Remember everything is tied together ; circular....health care, transportation, education etc....doesn't go any where in an industrial society without energy. Provide cheaper energy be it oil or renewable, and there is more money for ( health care, education etc) And that is why you need to realize that it all ties together and why the people who you will be voting for need to tell you the entire truth. Not just what they want you to hear. If they don't tell the whole story, look it up, find out. This is your lives and your children. If you don't mind the prospect of your grand children selling souvenirs of the statue of liberty and old white house, to tourist from China and India, along the road side, than allow the lassie fare politicians to control our government. There is NO one style of government or economic policy that is perfect, it needs to blended. Its not easy, but that is who we need in office....all the offices.
The energy industry is not going to fix it because most of them are in the 85 percent or dumber. Remember greed is dumb. Destroying the source of your income is dumb, pricing yourself out of a market is dumb. Lest you forget one of the oil industries excuses for their tax perks and subsides is because YOU commie terrorist in America decided to conserve, their revenues dropped and they lost money....god damn you people !!!! No I'm not joking, not that any one on there right mind believed this reason , but it did work for them. However it is proof that they the oil and the energy industry hold a special place in the trophy room for the "dumber than" category. Yet they continue because they are smart enough to buy our elected officials. Get this straight, they dont make tons of money because they are so smart, they make tons of money because they sell a product we need, that a vast majority of the population needs, they are smart enough to buy the people who control you and me. But smart would be a balanced approach and keeping this gravey train of selling energy going for ever. Possible moving enough wealth so that more people could buy the products, adding more wealth to the economy and even the idiots in Exxon.
Watch the pundent or politico who mentions, " well they only make about 2 cents profit a gallon" That sounds really small doesn't it. Its 2 cent on the gasoline which is about 391 million gallons ever day or $7,820,000 a day ever day 365 days a year. It does not include the money made on other fuels and lubricants and by products its the profit on gasoline. I know how hard it would be for you or I to live on one percent of that????
It all goes back to my fundamental request that YOU think, and find out what you are voting for before you vote. And that you do vote.... Do not give them the satisfaction of staying home. Vote for some one any one. If you don't like the candidates vote for the communist, the liberal Ottoman empire candidate but cast a vote. Let the politicians start to worry, that we are coming back and we are asking tough questions. It probable wont happen in our life time, but lets give this gift to our children and those that follow, the gift of candidates who care about us.
