Maybe listening to the news is not a good choice for me

Driving into work, I was listening to the radio news.  And as the radio broadcaster reads the head lines, I begin  thinking, I should have turned to music instead.
I know this will come as a surprise to ALL of you, but the housing market has NOT rebound.  Yes, you weren't aware of that, ( if you have been living under a rock, in a coma, or the 5 percent dumber than the 85 percent)     But why; home prices are falling, and interest rates are low, why aren't people buying up these houses.   Well, its not only that 15 million people are still out of work, its not that 22 million people are under employed and need to use their income to EAT, pay rent or housing expenses, but its also because the banks are STILL NOT giving out loans.   But why, because Banks are greedy, soul sucking, no wait that's congress,  and banks..   Because after the bank approves you for a loan, it sells your loan to some one else, like the Federal Housing Authority, and the Fed.  has this silly little rule that says, if the loan goes bad, the Fed has the option to make the bank that sold it to them, pay back the money they stole....errr they received from the sale of the loan.
Does this strike any one beside me as odd ?  I go to you, give you the authority to check me out, I sit at a table with your representative, you make me feel like pond scum for wanting to borrow your money, and 24 hours later, the bank has sold my loan?    How about the bank hold on to that loan and wait for me to pay it back.
I know, you are saying the bank learned their lesson from giving out loans, like samples of popcorn.
Money lenders  learn anything???  Yes and THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL??
The loaning agencies, not only banks got greedier, they are always life sucking , low life's greedy bastards, but they got greedier.   I can recall several years ago my son, explaining to me how the leadership in the bank he worked at , ignoring the warnings of himself and fellow employees, trying to alert them to bad money deals.
The Banks  played "hot potato "  and  WE lost. They knew the loans were no good but figured they would dump them before it came time to pay back those loans.
Now they have gone to the other extreme, and even people with a better than good chance to pay back the loans, are refused the loans.   This is proof that banks are NOT smart, but stupid.   These  worthless entities flush with OUR money, are too damn stupid to find a happy medium for loaning money, yet we trust the money and monetary policy to them,  just another indication of  something big wrong.
And OUR leaders, don't have the courage to regulate this properly.  The republicans would have you believe that regulations are the problem.  Well, how is the banking industry working out for you folks now?   This is not to say the people you  most likely inter act with are stupid.... its the people that they take there orders from that are dumber than rocks.     Do NOT let any one, tell you  the risk managers for the most part were not trying to tell the money lenders, that the mortgages and loans of  3 years ago were no good.   Its simple, the risk managers were ignored,  and here we sit.  9 percent unemployed, 11 percent underemployed, and rapidly slipping in place as a world leader.   Do not respond with the current numbers, I dare say  Britain and Spain denied their slippage right up to the moment  Bora Bora ignored them.
Rapidly switching gears, on the same broadcast we  heard about the Catholic Church is fighting a new proposed law to insist  birth control be covered by employee health care.   Hmmmmm.  putting aside all the potential joke targets this conjures up about why the Catholic Church would oppose birth control, realistically the church's response to  7 billion people on the planet is to pray???   And how has that worked out.
I haven't seen any Church statements, calling for the end of  company lay offs, so the babies parents can support them.   Nor Church offering to give money and aid to food kitchens to feed the people laid off.    I haven't heard the Catholic Church handing out cash to cloth those new children, or pay for school.   Come to think of it, not many free Catholic Schools in New York City.    Its pretty much a safe bet to say that organized religions  are made up of pompus assholes, with delusions, and just slightly less greedy than banks, but the Catholic Church is the one being vocal about this proposed change in regulations
Hmmmmm..... hey stupid people..... If you don't want birth control,,, don't get it or use it.  Wait did I say that???  If you are so stupid that you do not realize the need for birth control to be paid for by insurance, please please , use birth control yourself because you are to stupid to breed.  In fact you are a poster child in support of abortions.  Seriously, the argument that you don't want to give your money to support something you don't like, does NOT hold up in an industrial society, which you are part of dumb ass.   I don't recall authorizing expenditures on  any cruise missile, I'm sure the military can defend the US without it, yet we pay for them.   And this I am certain of;   I did NOT authorize any pay raise or any of the benefit's congress receives, yet I pay for them, so do not tell me that health insurance who will pay for viagra and does not pay for birth control is fair or is ok.    Had the idiots of the church suggested that people who want birth control pay a SMALL difference in premium for the birth control I would agree.   But the desire to not have any birth control at all is just one more proof that our species, especially the religious leaders are  A) the biggest scam artist on the planet.  B) Dumber than a box of rocks  C) leading people dumber than the 85 percent.
Do any of your readers  wonder, why are the religions so against  birth control and abortion but NOT voicing complaints about  wars,  death penalty.   Why does the church not politicize tougher policy against child abuse ( oh wait we know why lol )  spousal abuse.  Hmmmmm...wonder why that is.
My favorite candidate  Pizza Man Cain, is re evaluating his campaign.   Seems he was giving his very very very good friend money, but she was not a sexual partner???  Of course I believe that.   So  on day one when this woman came out and spoke about her relation ship with you Mr. Cain, that day you didn't remember giving her money,  knowing her, and being her friend,  it took two weeks for you to remember her and that she was a good friend.
This is the easy stuff.   This is the "low hanging fruit" the easy lies we are being told and expected to believe.   If you expect any difference in our society,,than WE all need to make it clear that the lies are no longer acceptable.   Stop donating money to either party.   Stop donating money to the church.  When the campaigns call, tell them there clients are lying.   Vote for the Nazi, or Communist party.  They all need to know  A) we will vote   B) will not vote the way an idiot leader of ohhhh say the church suggest  C) we will not vote for the old regime any more

Im not with the 1 percent but Id like to be

Fair is fair and I'm getting really tired of hearing about the 1 percent.  I can assure you I'm not even close to the  1 percent of wealth.   I have yet to get on my "soap box" about athletes and entertainers, except one blog reminding you folks that we actually can control their salaries if we choose to.  The 1 percent is not actually a problem.   Its that only 53 percent of us pay taxes, or the fair amount of taxes. "According to a 2011 article by CNBC writer Jeff Cox,[53] the 1% does not constitute merely corporate CEOs, bankers or stock traders, but also people in occupations not typically targeted by wealth disparity protesters. Based on a 2010 study by Jon Bakija et al. covering data since 2005 (whose results, Cox concedes, would be affected by the 2000s recession), executives, managers and non-financial supervisors make up 6.35% of the 1%, while finance professionals make up 2.77%, doctors 1.85% and lawyers 1.22%. Other occupations such as farmers, scientists, pilots, real estate professionals and entertainers each comprise about 0.5% of the 1 Percenters. Cox states that sources vary on the minimum yearly income to be considered among the 1%, ranging from about $500,000 to $1.3 million, whereas CEO salaries average $3.9 million, $10.6 million for those whose companies are in the Standard & Poor’s 500 and $19.8 million for companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Cox adds that the wealthiest of the 1% (that is, the .001%), make only 19% of their income through their salaries, and make the rest through investment income, which are taxed at different rates, that they pay a disproportionate amount of their incomes to income tax, having paid 40% of the total federal personal income tax in 2006, whereas the 5 Percenters paid 60%.[53]
Cox also states that the phenomenon of wealth concentration among a small segment of the population is a century old, and argues a direct correlation between this and the health of the stock market, stating that 36.7% of the United States' wealth was controlled by the 1% in 1922, 44.2% when the stock market crashed in 1929, 19.9% in 1976, and has increased since then. Cox also says that it has intensified at the same time that the United States changed from a manufacturing leader to a financial services leader. Cox takes issue with protestors' focus on income and wealth, and with their embrace of allies such as Susan Sarandon and Russell Simmons, who are themselves in the 1%.[53]
Joseph Barro of National Review offers similar arguments, asserting that the 1% includes those with incomes beginning at $593,000, which would exclude most Wall Street bankers.[54]"
Neither do I agree that  35 percent tax on people making over 200,000 dollars is too high.   As I pointed out, first they are not taxed a blanket  35 percent,  the majority of the money is taxed as the same rate as we mere mortals, unless them make gobs more money over 200,000.   In which case the higher rate kicks in.
The liberal 1 percent, who cry out for a new tax rate, seem to be missing something here.    I do my own taxes with the aid of a computer program.  I enter my own investments, dividends, bank accounts...that is all separate....when it comes to deductions,  I do not have to put any.   Lets be clear, if you want to pay more taxes  you just do NOT enter the deductions on your computer program , or tell your accountant not to take the deductions, or the guy from the corner store at H&R block.   Easy you are paying more taxes, which means those claiming they should pay more, have to be readers of "Uncle Remus"     "please don't toss me in the Brier patch  please ".     We don't need new taxes, we need existing taxes  paid fairly.
We don't need the "million air "  tax cuts instated for the rest of the century, let them run out.
Part of the troubling issues with both parties and many of the chuckle heads who unfortunately have the right to vote, is the "polarization" which is a 10 dollar word for , not willing to compromise to make something useful for the country to happen.   Hell get me in an hour and I will rant about the fraud, taking place, taking the limited resources because our central government, be it city, state of  federal  are dumber than the 85 percent.  Staffing enforcement, to insure fraud, is caught and eliminated is a cost effective method of insuring people who really need social programs can get them.
Yes we have idiots who say that  finger printing recipients of food stamps is terrible.  These are also people who believe unicorns will inherit the earth and that the new math taught in our schools will actually help some body ( beside those paid to come up with the crap being taught)
But the bottom line here, is the word compromise and reality.   We need to do both , cut spending which I believe can be done by elimination of fraud, at all levels including corporate, and by paying fair share of existing taxes.  Those loop holes were  nice when we were rich,  we are no longer, so cut the nonsense.    Newt Gingrich is an idiot,  I will gleefully throw out  illegals, who consider our laws for the suckers... I don't care if they have 8 kids by 10 wives, which is probable more common than you realize.    Poor  Grand Mama... she so struggles to pick up her welfare, SSI,food stamps, Medicaid checks, and she has been in this county a whole  4 weeks, where is the humanity????
Hey middle America, learn to do your own lawns, nails, and boycott  lettuce until they use Americans to pick it.
I'm picking on illegals because, there is no way there buying taco shells ,  tight jeans , two six packs is boosting the economy in the face of  health care cost, social programs and a disproportionate amount of crime.
The compromise is this, people illegally here who do work, do  obey the laws,  only take a fair share of social programs,  yes I want them to have amnesty.  The people who have done it legally,  cudo's to them...but some one busting there butt and earning there place, I say welcome aboard.
The political parties can reach a mutual deal, they simple do not want to .  This is a global game of chicken, with the result of  losing a country to gain an election.   The height of stupidity.   You need to get out of the 85 percentage until the election is over.     Insist that these mental  defective  fools,  compromise on the issues and get our economy moving.
Do not  NOT vote, if you don't like the party candidates, vote for the last person on the list, but don't give up your vote.
Its reality check time folks.  Lets get this done.

Alls quiet on the idiot front

Well  pretty uneventful week....now we can focus on what matters, like "America has talent, but not on this show"    " Real New Jersey housewives, that no one cares about"  "Survivor 2011, island of the media inspired misfits"  and  "Dancing with the wanna be's "
Its not as if the super committee in congress failed to come up with a way to cut, spending and raise revenues in a way that would help sustain the American economy.  Oh wait they did fail...hmmm. Oh well, automatic cuts and taxes are going to kick in to save us 1. 2 trillion dollars, oh wait, the answer of the super committee is to re visit the "sequester" to ease some of those taxes and cuts.  Nothing like being able to change the rules when you don't like the game.
But other than that, nothing much going on, unless you include the people killed and injured in Egypt, because the military doesn't want to give up power.  Or that the majority of Egyptians who favor a non sectarian form of government, will probable be turned into an Islamic Theocratic regime.
How about the news, that you haven't heard unless you listened to some obscure radio station, regarding the Chinese Banks, about to bust, for (wait for it ) bad loans?  Less the Chinese don't need to learn the lessons of the west, just because we screwed up royally pouring money into bad positions doesn't mean the Chinese can't pour money into bad loans.  Or that the strikes for higher wages and benefits, will impact the economy in China, not when they can gun people down in the streets and the rest of the world will continue to buy their " hazardous waste " products  ( Well that hasn't happened yet, but it will in the coming year) the Chinese public wants to buy the products they are making, and to do that they need money, and the government, doesn't like giving up money.
Meantime, our presidential race, continues with each candidate getting conflicting messages from God.    Poor Newt,  God must really be messing with him, 5 years ago God told him we needed to raise tax revenue, this year its no new taxes, read my  TelePrompter"
So we are safe in our nation  to pay no attention to the  Hispanic Muslim who wanted to bomb us in the name of the peace loving religion, and watch our nit wit programing , praying that the basketball season can start in Earnest, so that several hundred people can make millions playing a game while you and I, worry about paying our bills

Where the heck is the money going

You know... I wrote a small post today.   I thought there was no sense in doing over kill.  Unfortunately I began talking to a co worker.    As we discussed, the fact that the democratic party is a group of gutless spineless jelly fish like weenies who can only make the news when they are cheating on there wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, or taking kick backs from the porn, or organic food industry.  While the republicans are on the whole, mindless morons, genetically breed to lie about anything asked. Who will knock social programs while there relatives including their  dozens of illegitimate children and mistresses benefit from those programs.
The discussion moved to ,,, " how are we broke?"    The government tells us we are 2. something trillion dollars in debt?   How the devil are we in debt???  The budget is not  some mysterious unforeseen entity.   There should be a known number of people being paid.  There is a certain number of products bought, and there is money coming into the treasury.   The government budget  state, Fed, and city is a check book with a lot of zeros.  If you can balance your check book you can understand government finance.
What aren't they telling us??
Most of us, pay an income tax, a Federal Tax, we pay a sales tax, we pay tax on gasoline.  There are several taxes listed on our phone bill, or utility bill, our airline tickets, commuter tickets.
We have fees on licenses of ALL kinds, any permits, test we take. There is virtually no money you spend or earn that does NOT have a portion taken to pay a tax, fee, surcharge?   The lotto, all those chance cards in the drug store, grocery store, bible shop, all are supposed to be divided in half, with half going to the government and half to the winners.
Its time to ask our elected officials, where the hell is the money going.  how did you spend that much money every year and on what?   Lets start with that, we want to see an accounting of the money coming in and the money going out... since the house and the president cant fix our economy maybe we can.

We dont like the rules lets change the game

Just a week to go for the "Stupid Committee"  to come up with a plan, or  ouster  budget cuts will come into play automatically.  But it looks like the congress will come through for us, with a bold plan.  That plan would be to renege on the automatic cuts that go into effect if they don't come up with a real plan..
So the plan is to change the rules of the game, life is good when you don't need to deal with reality.
Reality is our economy is in trouble, but if you can ignore it, and still get elected by people too damn stupid to realize that you are not doing your job, than its not congress fault.  Its the knuckle dragging morons  "Whats gots da rit  ta vote in any  Gud Ferring Man whuts ferrs Gut and hates communist"
Write your congress person, your senator and flood Obama, but send your contributions to any third party candidate even if you don't like them.  Don't give money to the republicans or Democrats, neither party takes us serious any move  Right your letters and emails telling them, they don't have your vote or your money any more.
Let any member of the house, try living on minimum wage, without benefits.   Than possible we would get some real plans on how to fix this economy, including social cutbacks and  adjustments to the tax laws.
I'm sure that if the tax right offs were to end, Mobil and Shell would still continue to exploit us.
Let congress know, the fix to our society is NOT  changing the rules mid game

Just when you thought they might not be stupid, they open their mouths.

Libya. President Obama supported the uprising, correct? President Obama called for the removal of Qadhafi. Just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing before I say, yes I agree, I know I didn’t agree. I do not agree with the way he handled it for the following reason – no, that’s a different one. I gotta go back to … Got all this stuff twirling around in my head. Specifically, what are you asking me, did I agree or not disagree with on what? … Here’s what I would have – I would have done a better job of determining who the opposition is and I’m sure that our intelligence people have some of that information. Based upon who made up that opposition – based upon who made up that opposition, might have caused me to make some different decisions about how we participated. Secondly, no, I did not agree with Qadhafi killing his citizens. Absolutely not. So something would have had to be – I would have supported many of the things they did in order to help stop that. It’s not a simple yes-no, because there are different pieces and I would have gone about assessing the situation differently, which might have caused us to end up in the same place. But where I think more could have been done was, what’s the nature of the opposition?

This is candidate Cains, response to the question, regarding how he thought President Obama handled the issue of Libya.   Now keep in mind  Cain asked for the interview, this was not impromptu.   What should scare voters is,
A)  Cain answered the question.  If you don't know something, even a politician can tell a journalist, that they had not look thoroughly into a question.  He could have simple said, Yes on this issue Obama handled himself well.  Instead, because it was Obama, Cain had to struggle to come up with a negative about the president
B) Actually stated in  A),  this finding fault with the other party simply because they are the other party.  People this is the United States, we are all supposed to be working together toward a common good.  When some one does something right, give a quick answer to acknowledge it and move on.
C) the excuse given for his poor answer, was that Cain had not had much sleep.  Well some one should inform Cain that problems arise at all hours for the president of the United States, other factions on the globe don't check to see if the president has had his 8 hours.
D) Cain wanted this interview to deal with questions he thought he would be asked; I'm guessing the sex scandal.  Hell folks I'm not running for any position, and I know  the media ask what it wants in this country and there is no such thing as  " NO fair, that wasn't a good question"
I'm picking on Cain because he is opening his mouth.  When others do,  I will point it out.   But this election truly is to important to leave it to mental midgets.
Growing up, the politicked of the time like to talk about the threat of nuclear war.  I don't believe it was more than a threat, because it was not in the interest of either side to destroy the world.   In fact I believe the threat is stronger now, now that children and the mentally handicapped have either nuclear weapons or biological weapons.   But to the less glamorous part of our species, the greed factor.  The desire to have more money than your  GOD.  The stupid mistakes we make every day in the quest for the almighty buck.
Despite barely struggling out of a depression ( stop calling it a recession)  our own FHA continues to provide loans to people with barely the money to by a TV much less a home.   Now word from China, that their banks rather than learning from the mistakes of the captiolist pigs, have decide to emulate facist war mongering dogs, and loan money to people who also will default.  Meaning the Chinese banks may soon need a government bail out.  ( yes there government, but its still the act of greed and stupidity )
We need a Leader with the testosterone level  ( male or female ) to make tough unpleasant decisions to get our nation growing on safe and sound footing.  Not based on the stock market alone, but on our employment numbers. The number of people who feel secure that their is food on the table and a warm dwelling in the winter.  A leader who will actually balance the  cost cutting and the revenue increases.
My personal railing against religion, is a discussion for future blogs, but, a leader of the greatest nation in the world, should not be leading us based on an unknown.   I'm sorry, there is no proof positive on Supreme Beings, nor a Supreme Beings intervention, in events on our planet, so, basing decisions on pray and divine intervention, when 300, 000, 000 people await results, is NOT what I want to hear is our plan.
The buffoons, rather the newer candidates of the republican party truly scare me.  I can understand some middle state bumpkin, who never dun  grag gi ated they 7 grade, cause they didn't need it.  Depending on God.  Our new religious growth is very similar to 60,000 years ago, the knowledge we had than did not explain how light from sky, burn tree, kill moose.   But our leaders, should understand what lightning is, and explain it to the farm belt. Theocracies are easy,  God decides everything, its in Gods hands, we need to pray and see what he wants.  Even a republic is harder.  You have to make decisions and live with them.
The only thing I can see good about the religious faction in any country is if  I could get enough notoriety  to convince these people, "God told me to tell you,  save your money, stop buying garbage, boycott companies that can't prove they pay ALL their employees world wide a fair wage and provide benefits...yep God told me this last night, honest , oh one last thing, God said the oil industry belongs to Satan and he wants us all on renewable NOW "  than I could be religious again.
Right now I'm asking you to make the decision, look hard at the character of the person you are voting on.

So world peace broke out this weekend????

I don't know, if its me or the rest of the world.  The headlines  Conrad Murray convicted of Manslaughter, because of Michael Jackson.  That the doctor was a royal  As.. H...le   is a fact. And that he should not be allowed to treat living things, I agree... but page one ?  Breaking news???
Kim Kadashian, yes this is a beautiful woman, but she was divorced after 20 seconds, and it makes news?  Front page ??
Snooki  ( is this even a real name).    Even the Cain story,  the public is ready to dump him because he was sexually over active?   Never mind that, that he has no concept of what is going on in the rest of the world, he really believes his 9/9/9 tax plan will save the nation, and government social programs have to end, but we have to turn back the "hun" or the Muslims in there own country....that's ok??? But he had sexual encounters  in an in appropriate way, and denied it....that's why he shouldn't be president??
I guess its tough to have honest politicians when the public is full of bull.    But that's not the point of this blog.   The message is, reporting on what impacts our lives, providing information to a public that will be voting for the leadership of our country.   Or voting for the congress and president , the governors, and mayors who will be taking orders from industry on how to rule us.
We are pack animals and we focus on the trivia because its easier to deal with nonsense than real life.
Dancing with the stars doesn't cost us a dime, but an elected leader who wants to change the tax structure?
" Lord Miss Scarlet, I don't know nothing  bout no capitol gains tax !"
Yes  I agree, it would be nice to live in a world where the most important piece of news was " Did Paris Hilton wear undergarments last night?"   But we ain't there yet.   And if we avoid dealing with, the issues that do impact our lives, we won't get there either.
Instead of tweeting about,  " American Idol"  how about tweeting your representatives and telling them what you really want.   Write or call , and explain,   " Your not getting any more money until you take some action in house, besides voting on  " In God We Trust"
Those confusing  tax laws, and what gets taught in school, impact you, allot more than which socialite is getting married, divorced, or cheating on their spouse.   Tiger Woods, plays golf, he does not decide if your son or daughter is being deployed to Afghnastian.     Its time to start digging for information, demanding  facts so we can make intelligent decisions, while there is still a nation to make intelligent decisions with.
There will always be another   Snookie, Kim,  Sean,  or  Biff, there may not always be a United States of America.

Friday, November 4, 2011

Yesterday was yet another plea by me for you to think before you act.  To take the time to get facts, information before you vote, before you support some position.
Its natural for the average citizen to believe the people we elect or the people who have moved to positions of power and authority, "think" before acting.  Yet time and time again they open there mouths and prove, us wrong, that they don't think, and that often our elected officials are dumber than the 85 percent dumber than rocks.
A few months ago the rising star Anthony Wiener,  couldn't remember texting women, simple flirting.  But he could remember an FBI investigation into some one "hacking" his twitter account.
If you are sending photos of yourself in semi dressed photos, don't you believe you would remember this ?
Now we have Candidate Cain, not remembering giving several women several thousand dollars rather than go to court.   This would mean  A)  he has to pay off people rather than go to court so often that the sexual harassment  has been forgotten.
     B) he has so much money a  few thousand dollars doesn't mean much to him
    C) He is facing court appearances so often that  2 or 3 events have faded in his memory
    D) He is a lying sack of sh...   trying to weasel his why out of an embarrassing situation
     E) all of the above
Both case prove the stupidity of potential people of power.   Had Either of them, just come clean, and stated it was a dumb moment in their lives, real sorry, never happen again ( until next time) , I would bet any amount their campaigns would have moved forward.  Yes there would be some people with moral indignation, but those are the fringe folk any way, neither of the candidates would get them.
Hey lets look at global stupidity.   We have our own government bailing out banks but not stipulating ..." We are loaning you money so you can loan the people money to pay down there loans and keep the money moving"  Nope neither Obama or Bush could put that math equations together.
Recently we had ex Governor of New Jersey  Corzine   sink a successful government by over extending in foreign bonds.  Now this is while the global economy is tanking. Its not like this was a mystery, you and I knew about it, so a big shot financial wizard who has access to inside information should have realized that the European Economy isn't much better than our own.
We have the Greek Government, bailed out twice already, rioting citizens in the street angry over the measures necessary to economically recover, but the Prime Minister figures this is something to put to a vote.
Should we take the money from Germany and France or not.   Which really meant, " I don't have the balls to decide, let me blame the ordinary citizens this way I still look good"
I once did a satire on  Wall Street:   40, 000 years ago, on the great plains a herd of buffalo munching the spring grass and just talking among themselves.  You figure they have been around for Milena and know what they are doing.... so lets listen in on a couple of  buffalo drinking buddies
Burt:   Hey  Nog, good grass here, right
Nog:   yea...snarg sure can pick the spot
Burt:  Yes, better than yesterdays grass, that was kinda dry, hey did you hear, Gnu thought he saw a lion in the bushes two days ago?
Nog.  A lion, why didn't he say something
Burt:  He wasn't sure, and didn't want to start a panic
Nog : BUT IT WAS A LION !
Snerf:  WHAT LION, WHERE, ???
Burt:  two days ago.. in
Harvey : LION  RUN FOR YOU LIVES !!!!!!
Snerf:    Everyone this way !!!!
so the stamped starts,  hundreds if not thousands of buffalo running full speed

Burt: hu hu ( breathing heavy )  why are we running ...hu hu hu ?
Nog:  Harvey spotted a lion .  hu hu hu
Burt,  But isn't that the cliffs ahead ...hu hu hu
Nog:   Yes, but there might be a lion back in those bushes..hu hu hu

Burt and Nog are survived by a  Vivian Buffalo and 4 small calf's.

I like this story, it reminds me of wall street, the commodity market, much of our human endeavors.  And when you get into the truth about how markets actually do move, often it is based on the same logic as my fictitious herd of buffalo.    If you think I'm joking, you have to read how these decisions are made.
I to had faith in these folks working in these positions.  But something didn't seem right, so I started looking into certain information that was being given.  So called reasons for the market to move.
They didn't make sense.   Well not always  but often the reasons the markets move make less sense than the potential lion in the bushes.  At least Nog , and Burt  had the excuse of a brain pan about 75 percent smaller than ours.

The short of it.

Today's, blog is short  and simple.   If you are counting on politicians and the people in power to lead us into better times, you are in for a disappointment.
Not until the majority of  us, the average person,  changes how we deal with the world and the issues we live with, can people who claim to lead, actually do anything worth a damn.
WE, you and I have created a monster, with our leadership.  Governments, that govern for the good of ALL the population, need to compromise.  Its a fact.   You have to reach a point that a given set of rules, helps as many people as possible.  Than you look at the people not added by the first rule, and set up rule 2 to help them, and so on.
At one time money and power was a goal, admit it, the majority of people wanted at the very least a share of both.   But now we have allowed power, which gets you access to money and money to become the ruler of us all.
You have to have the newest " I PAD"  the newest car, the newest fashion.   To do that you need money, and to get money, you forget about the person next to you.   ( Ok this is a whole series of blogs, but it is a bases of what is going on, if you don't believe me, just check the latest news, about jobs  leaving China because its to costly)
What it means is, we have leveraged our leaders to focus on the same thing.  Some where as we became adults, we thought, " Well we can be power or money hungry, but our president or representatives will maintain the balance and do the right thing "
How is that working for ya ?
This is way I started this blog, ( yes I know I said this already)   You need to understand, we as a species like easy paths, "85 percent of the worlds population is dumber than a box of rocks with 5 percent dumber than that "  we including our leaders, or elected officials will also take the easiest path in decision making open to them.
They  rationalize,  A)  We are representatives,
                                     B) we need to get elected to represent our society
                                     C) to get elected we need money to get our message out
                                     D) To get that money, its ok to make deals with people who have money and I will protect my constituents after I'm elected.
                                    E) Oh well we need more money to stay in power, so maybe just a few more deals and I can stay honest ?
Than there are the leaders, the alpha types who think like this :
A)  I got mine, the money the power, screw the rest of the population lets party !
We created this, it took thousand of years, and we refined it to the point that officials start running for office AGAIN  a few months after they get into office.
To fix this will require work.   WE  you and I have to find people who look like they still care about all of us.  Those willing to think rationally and make fair deals that benefit our society.  Than we have to  contact and support these people.
Like I said, it will take work, we need to stop supporting people who don't care about YOU or I .
Including companies.   ( oh hurt business, job looses oh oh ??? )  Do you think those companies care about you or I besides beyond how much money we spend on there product.    Time to see what those companies want, what do they support.    I am not so naive as to think we can stop buying items or services, but we can say no to many things.   Let companies know, if  You  the Corporation ( which according to Congress is a person, gee I wonder if a corporation can marry a same sex corporation now?)   Any way, if they support something contrary to what we want, than we can fight back with our wallets.
Its not fun  ladies and gentlemen, but it is our survival.  Or we can role over and continue to let greed run our governments.  This is a world wide issue, and we do have a means of fighting back.   We can communicate with people across the planet,  lets start the discussions, and decide how we will LEGALLY  fight back.
For right now, flood the halls of congress with emails and letters to  compromise.  taxes and cut backs now.   Fair Taxation and Fair  Reduction in Entitlement programs Now.  Lets make Tee shirts  ( FTFREP NOW  sounds like  fetrep.  )  We can make the TEE Shirts in  Cambodia, in one of the sweat shops where they use children for  10  cents a shirt  using toxic inks and recycled cloth  made from used hospital bandages. and  sell the shirts  for  20 dollars, using our profits to buy a congress person and maybe a couple of judges  because they come cheaper by the dozen, open a shadow company off shore so we don't have to pay taxes on the shirts, hey this can work ?

reality check. yes I know it hurts, but only for a second.

Ok, repeat, but its important.
Regulations and lower corporate taxes or  reduced taxes on people making over 200, 000 dollars are NOT going to boost the economy.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/26/opinion/its-consumer-spending-stupid.html?_r=1&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss    Read here, I'm not the only one telling you this.

Corporations are  like small children, if their is a margin or  .000001 % to be made on something and they believe that people will buy allot of somethings, they will make the factory bigger, put more people to work and sell the "day glow widgets "
The only reason corporations give a rats butt about regulations is because they are greedy, mentally feeble who want more more.   For you much older folk  consider the cartoon character Daffy Duck...." gimme gimme gimme"    But at the end of the day if there is money to be made the company will sell you  pet rocks or  buffalo chips in acrylic.

The European Court of First Instance, in a starkly worded summary read to a courtroom of about 150 journalists and lawyers here, ordered Microsoft to obey a March 2004 commission order and upheld the €497.2 million, or $689.4 million, fine against the
company.

Do you see Microsoft pulling out of Europe?  No, because even with this ruling, Microsoft is making money.     So dropping regulations would increase the profit margins, but not enough that they leave if the regulations are not dropped.
While it can be said that some of the regulations prevent a company from starting, which I agree is bad.  Its not that simple, if the start up company could not operate safely, than the regulation served its purpose.
Routinely  we folk make fun, poke jokes when we see a regulation that says:  "A cereal cannot contain more than .001 parts insect carcass"  or  pills that warn, side effects may cause death.
Well what do you think  would happen in a free market if the regulations however NOT all encompassing, what would happen if there were NO regulation.
Oh you say, I would buy another product.   If there were no regulations do you think the other company wouldn't allow  1.9 percent insect carcass?
Than I wouldn't buy that product at all?  Fine, why do you buy it now than?
Yes I'm picking the easy subject, because this is a blog, and I'm making a point.
Additionally the regulation for bidding  more than .oo1 bug guts in your cereal doesn't stop the company from making the cereal.  They make money and continue to make as sure as possible there are limited number of bug parts in there.
I think its very funny when people, react to insects in the restaurant.  You live on a planet where they the bugs outnumber us over  1000 to 1, do you really think that the restaurant you just paid 150 dollars for a steak and  3 mini carrots doesn't have any bugs there.   These places are just better at making sure you don't see them.
This is the long way around of saying regulations do not stop a company from making money,  nor will the removal make the economy move.
Which companies closed because of  ( wait for it ) the taxes were to high ?   Yep, companies are moving to other places, to increase there profit margin, however, you can not just say, ok, we will reduce our cultural or society standard of living, lower the taxes so these companies can make more money and will stay here.
Remember, if we ain't buying, it don't matter if you are making cheap stuff in China.
And if we ain't working we ain't buying.
Its with great amusement, I have been reading about Chinese companies closing to move to Malaysia, because China is becoming to expensive.
No matter the taxes or regulations   companies will grow, if they can make a profit.
High price jobs, with expensive benefits in the U.S.  means the worker will buy the over priced blue ray copy of  "Survivor Island, lake Michigan", which puts money in the  pocket of our poor media industry.
Once again the point  is not so simple.   Very little in our world is  "black or white"  yet we attempt to pigeon hole an issue into true/ false, yes/no.  Fair regulations, and proper taxation can help, but ultimately its the consumer spending that determines how any economy will do.
Our economy in the U.S. is proof, a living example.  The majority of established companies have more cash than they know what to do with. ( a figure of speech, they are investing the money to make more money)   They are neither expanding their business, buying new equipment or hiring new employee's.
Another example is giving the masses free money.  There is no guarantee that giving money for disaster relief or to pay their debts that people will actually do that.
A congress that will not allow tax reductions for business that promise to hire Americans, so those Americans can go out and buy products and services.
Why is it, that no one in congress will pass a bill that says,  " You promise to hire  X number of Americans, in return you reduce your corporate tax  X number of dollars.   If you take the reduction and do not hire those people, you will pay back the money including penalties.   If you fire those people or lay them off in less than 5 years without good cause,  You will pay back the money.   Here are the acceptable reasons, per a national standard, pretty much accepted across the country"
Such a bill is not taking away any ones freedom... you are free not to take the money, but if you do here are the conditions.
Here Mr. Bank, he is bail out money, but you must loan that money out to people who will spend it to grow the economy, OR failing that, you will spread that money out to reduce the debt on X number of loans to people with incomes of  X.
Perhaps the old model of economies, was applicable, that business with low taxes and few regulation grew an economy, but no more, at least not now.
This morning driving in, the radio reported that Greece will put its new austerity measures and bail out  to a referendum before the Greek people !.  This is much like the Dutch putting to a vote  "Should we be flooded this year or not?"    Economically the Greeks  ( among others ) are in poor shape, but that doesn't stop them from being dumber than a box of rocks.  We will vote on  taking the bail out or not.  And if we don't we will do what?   I don't like to predict election results, but I think the rioting, burning of shops and vehicles is a pretty good indicator of how the vote will go.
I started this blog explaining human nature in my overly simplified way, and continue to show you examples.  The Greeks are just they latest, with the battle cry  "Freedom"  or "You will have to pry my retirement check from my cold dead hands "  which could be soon if their is no money backing that retirement check.
I started these blogs, with the intent to prove the 85 percent rule, which started as a joke, is no longer funny and it is as real as you or I.   Knowing its true is not meant to be a magic bullet, to fix anything.
Knowing it is true has always been a way of understanding what is going on around you, and using that knowledge to make better decisions.   If you know some one is deciding irrationally, you than decide your own path.  Hell you might decide to vote/buy/sell/act irrationally too, but do it with the knowledge you made a clear cut decision based on facts you have on hand.  Don't do it because the "herd" has decided.
Do it because you have decided its the best course of action for you.
As bad as I feel now voting for Obama,  I can not in good justice have voted for McCain.  McCain became a tool of the his party.   I was a McCain supporter right up to 2000, when he decided to stop being the Maverick.   Despite what you read here, I am at heart a Republican, waiting for my party to sober up and become pragmatic again.   Some one needs to prove to me that  "God is actually getting his 10 percent" as the republican candidate suggested a few days ago.    Cause if God is getting 10 percent, its time to lay a corporate tax on God.   Remember the republicans are calling for a flat tax with no more loop holes, not me.

Response to the answer of the universe, or my blog which ever comes first

Its difficult to argue with the comments received about the two blogs.  I cannot say I disagree, so I won't.
How ever I did state and continue to state, that the regulations and rules need to be reviewed to see if they are simple a new way for government to get money, or are they legitimate rules placed to protect people.
It is a sad state of affairs, that many of the fees, placed for permits, and inspections are intended to generate income for over extended governments at all levels Federal, State, Local.
But that doesn't mean, that all regulations and rules need to be tossed aside.   The said truth is that most safety regulations and paper work are based on some one screwing up, causing harm.
So the public demands action be taken, and governments use a "shot gun " approach.  They hit everything in there path, including well meaning people, who are trying to earn an honest living.   However while the person responding, is a case of a well meaning person, how about the cases of shops selling tooth paste with toxins in the tooth paste.  And the phony labels on the product, pretending to  higher priced brands.  Or the expired produce.  If some one gets sick than the public wants to know why nothing is being done to prevent this.
We have created our own monster including government.   To many of us want the cheaper product, but not the responsibility of  using a cheaper product.
So governments, take out the shot gun and everyone has to file  paper after paper, permit after permit.  Fee after Fee.  If you want a more surgical approach a more business specifics style of  documentation than you have to support bigger government,  and tougher penalties for people who abuse the laws.   So that operating this shops that sell or produce a hazardous product have to worry about a penalty that far out ways the reward of their operation.
What rules do we get rid of??    Which small business do we let open up without checking them out first.   What I believe is sadder than even the rules and regulations and fees, is that I doubt most of that paper work is ever checked, or checked in a timely manner. Than there  are the  bribes, kick backs, favors, in return for over looking the missing fire protection.  The blocked exits, the undocumented products sold.
To fix this broad based problem, we need a cultural change, so people accept, responsibility for their actions.  The rules need to applied  fairly, but they need to be realistic.  People breaking those rules either the merchant or the buyer ( when they know that a Rolex doesn't cost 25 dollars ) needs to pay a stiff penalty for supporting those operating outside the bounds of our society.  You knowly break the rules than you pay a penalty that will stick with you for a long time.  This proves that the people operating within the rules were not chumps.   A government official taking a bribe, I like the old Roman method, in a sack, throw into the Hudson river....but your not letting me do that are you??
More to the point of why I wrote that blog.   I'm tired of politicians being elected via sound bite.
I tired of hearing people talk about candidates going to do this or that based on a 60 second sound bite.
If you like some one, investigate them.   This people control our lives, decide how our money is going to be spent, decide whats taught in our schools.   Isn't it worth a few hours over a campaign to see if these people do more than talk .
My own son will "kill " me.  I voted for Obama, because I thought he had the guts to do something to help this country.   Well Obama does talk the talk, but that's all he does...  So this election I have a dilemma, the republicans so far are worse, their talk is primitive sub culture ignorant  rhetoric.  But I don't want 4 more years of fired up speeches that go no where.   Maybe if a candidate stated they would investigate all the rules and regulations to see what is still valid and useful, I could vote for that person.
Perhaps I can start just posting  various regulations, and we readers can sent them off to our elected officials and ask  " What the hell is this one for ?"  and if they don't know, maybe its time to get rid of it.
As to education,  none of us get to tell the people how to spend there money.  Besides  I don't want them sending up trust funds for education, I don't trust them any more than I trust our government.
Yes, I am well aware of the College degrees that are pretty much wall decorations.  But the people who sign most of the checks like having their people with those wall coverings.   Hell,  I have a masters and bachelors  and would be the first to admit, they don't mean a damn thing.   Oh wait, the exercises of getting them did teach me a better  way to study what I do want to know.
If you disagree with another tax, well we agree to disagree.   And I do realize that the 2 cents per unit of various energy actually cost you and myself MORE than 2 cents, however, it doesn't hurt as much when you look at it that way.   We pay tax for school up to high school, why not college and trade schools.
This I know you are not going to like, but the expected return on investment, I would expect on my idea is just an increase of  5 to 10 percent in graduation with degrees that actually benefit society.
I know I didn't write about it, but the original projection I did, had a bonus for people who studied math and science.
No, it doesn't prevent people from taking advanced degrees in basket weaving, but in this the "market" does control the field.  How many lawyers does a society absorb, or how many MB A's  how many PhD.      I know people who are damn good at doing there job, but can't get in for the interview because they don't have the degree on there resume.   A free education would go a long way to help in that situation.
The folks who reply,,,, "Well I didn't have a free ride "  I say,  in our society we hope to make the next generations path easier than we had it.    If I am going to be taxed, (  and I am)   than I would like to decide where that money goes.
Entitlement programs, when it comes to that, I sure not your "Mother Teresa"   I have no moral problem shipping illegal or undocumented people, back from where they came from.  Nor breaking up families to do it.   But knowing that, I also have to expect the cost of the products I use going up so the people here, will do the work.    I also believe any one hiring illegal or undocumented workers  needs to do some very hard time with very high penalties, money, dollars  paid for punishment.
If you are getting Social Security, or disability and you don't really need it, if the claim is phony, than you should be thrown off, and have to pay back every dime.  But the doctors, or people who put you on those social programs have to join you , paying fines and doing free social service work.
We also need to stop giving  "Industrial welfare"  If pharmacy manufactures want to charge 200 dollars a dose, than they have to pay back ALL the government research funds they got for that product.
Capturing and punishing fraud, has to be across the board, from the illegal worker to the corporate CEO who has lawyers working to abuse the system.
It all comes down to what part of the 3 trillion dollars in our projected budget, are we willing to give up, and what elected official will listen to us when we tell them what we want to give up??

College education for 2 cents.

I have not changed my view, that energy policy should be our number one priority.  Getting off fossil fuels and using re-newable fuels including nuclear fission and fusion.
Nothing in an industrial society gets done without energy.  I dont want to go back to a farm culture, no thank you.   I like my  heat and air conditioning and not dying from an ingrown toe nail.   I also realize my title to this blog is mis leading, but I'm brushing up on my marketing skills
But to get and maintain our society, we need to work on education.   That  is,  we actually need to educate our population.
While this is necessary  for  ALL  ages brackets, let us focus on a little experiment I did, about 3 years ago.
It was a discussion about the rising cost of college, and what can we do about it. Additionally the subject of professional students and those wasting MOM & DADS money...etc.
So, I opened a spread sheet and the internet and ran some numbers.
There are about 20 million people enrolled in college every year in the United States.  Now lets say its 100,000 dollars per year.  I know prices range but lets give it a round number.  So we need 20 trillion dollars to pay for their school.
Now for the 4 letter word  TAXS  ( yes I know it should be 5 letters but my  skoolling is so poor and 5 letters doesn't have any impact )
If you put a  2 cents tax....  that is  point .02,    two whole cents tax on every gallon of gas, 2/3 of ever watt of electric power, and on natural gas used, it comes to over 20 trillion dollars.
A two cents tax pays for 20 million kids to go to college for free.
But wait there's more, we'll include measuring cups.  No seriously, I'm not suggesting, continued give aways.  Wait  First, I said you are paying the tax of 2 cents, but than I said  you are not paying for college?  My idea is not  a give away, the students have to earn the free education.
Its a tiered system, of grades to tuition.   Now  keep in mind this does NOT mean an end to grants, or scholarships ( although it could which would save more money )  but we offer the taxes to pay for college so any grants or scholarships could still be applied. As well as you paying for tuition if you so desire.  If you want the education you pay for it with your grades, and proving you are not just waisting every one's time.
The united states will pay 100 percent of your tuition, books, lab fee, dorm, food card, health, if you maintain a 4.0
Get a  3.9  and we pay  98 percent.   3.8 and we pay 96 percent and so on.
If you dont get the 4.0  you make up the difference, that is YOU pay the government back the difference between the two GPA.  For example, all your expenses are 100,000 dollars, you get a 3.9 GPA, you owe the government the difference of  $2,000 dollars.  Grades go down, you pay more, Grades go up you pay less.
Semester by semester.
We are not paying for your pizza, your beer, your partying,  we pay for you to attend school, pass and actually do well.   You do well you or your parents have less money to spend on a college education.
Please do not tell me about the possible abuses, the possible frauds,  they exist now.  If we find a teacher , a college/university, or student cheating the system, they will be executed them and dragged them by a bus than  have them sold to be turned into bio-fuel.
If this works, we can put the 2 cent tax on other energy sources  to extend to trade schools, high schools, but the bottom line is there is a method that pays for education, that doesn't hurt as much as existing methods, and it has the nice ring to it,that the money is being earned.
Your job Mr/Mrs student is to learn, not party but learn, we society reward that, by paying for your education.   If you dont do your job, of learning, than you pay a price, in this case its the expense of  going to school and coming up with the money we gave the schools to pay for you to attend.
It doesn't matter if you have kids or not.   Hopefully in a society you benefit from having a portion of the population know what the hell there doing.   You may be single and childless, but that kid over there might be the one to discover the cure for bad hair days, or cancer.  If it seems unfair to those who have already paid for there schooling or in the process of paying the loans.  Get over it, here is an idea.  You already pay for guns, tanks and a section of the  interstate highway.  If you think you own everything you pay for, go try to have a picnic on the interstate or use an M1 Abrams tank next time your car is in the shop.
This is an industrial society, we need educated people.  We really need people who are focused on learning, so here is the incentive, do well or pay money.
How do we make sure they pay ?  "WE know where you and or your family live"  and your cat is awfully vulnerable while its in the litter box.    I dont care what is your excuse is for the grades, we get our money the following semester or you don't get your education paid for, and we get part of your pay checks until the money is paid back  SHOULD YOU  not maintain your grades.   What ever you owe gets paid that year or  OR  you pay interest on what you owe the tax payers.
If you don't want to be in this system, fine, than you pay  the old fashion way, no problem.
But, this method provides that pretty much any one can  go to college, and if you deserve to be there, you will get good grades, and you will pay nothing or next to nothing. 3.7 you get 95% .
Neither is it linear, we want you to study and learn.  Possible you don't belong in college, not everyone does,    But society and its tax money is giving you a chance.  At 3.0 GPA for the semester, we pay 89 percent of your college cost.  at 2.5 GPA  we pay 79 percent.  2.0 gets you 70 percent.  1.5 gets you 45 percent one semester.  Yes an arbitrary cut off.  2.0 is the lowest tax payers will pay for.
Realizing that many schools have a different system, we can adjust.  But bottom line, is we are paying for college and performance, and it is do able.   Most families will be able to save a lot of money using this system.
While and entrance exam, needs to be used, to see if you can handle the material, the money is no issue.   If you can be accepted to Harvard,  MIT,  Ms. Jones Brownie University, than we tax payers will pick up the cost, as long as you maintain the grades.
Higher education should like this, its pretty much guaranteed money for them.
This is the computer age, so checking up to insure its working is not that hard.  Depending on how we do this, the grades are entered into a computer, its a click on the enter button to prove the grades have been made.
Knowing this would bother, some of my friends, I don't care why you didn't maintain your GPA.  To be honest, I would not qualify for full pay.  But paying 10 percent is far better than not going to school because you can not afford the tuition and don't want or can't get loans.    How many medical school students do you think would like this program ?
The tax also covers the cost of administering the program.    There is really no justification not to do it.
Before you comment to me " We already have 20 million people going to college, or we have the most foreign students applying for our schools, or there is a system in place now"
         A) the university portion is a test program, if it works as well as I believe, we will use it for trade schools, any advanced learning schools beyond high school
         B)  the drop out rate for college is too high, and the debt for the students is too high.  And you MBA's out there can figure statistically, even though there will be a higher percentage of people who are a waste of flesh, we will still get a higher return on people who learn something despite themselves.  We would open this program to foreign students  AFTER 8 years, if it proved to work.    I would want to see at least two graduating classes with improved grades and higher rates of  graduation, or I would advocate dropping the program and using the money to open a  Blimp Pilot school.  the percentage of foreign students is dropping as our cost go up.
        C) the existing systems in place are too complicated, and costly.  Regardless of how hard you study and work in school , you still owe someone your soul for years.
Finally, I like my idea...vote for me.  ( no, I'm not running but I needed a catchy close )

thank you for your response to the tax issue blog.

My fault if my view wasn't clear.  Your comments are correct.  I believe our tax code needs to be addressed and corrected.   My blog poking fun of the sound bite rhetoric, either 9 9 9 or 20 percent tax, is just poking fun at the sound bite and foolishness in believing it.   As you note there are already exceptions in the plan but neither the candidates or media focus on these.
As to myself, I don't want to pay more taxes, however, if I believed that everyone was paying a fair share, and that the money would be used as intended, I would be willing to pay more taxes to get my country my society on a stronger economic footing.   Taxes don't have to be stagnant, the system can be fluid depending on what is needed.
I resent the sound bites because, too many people will believe those sound bites, and make an election decision based on miss information.
We do need to cut spending, and we do need to raise income.   My message is, what are we willing to cut.   I'm willing to pay for some department that actually goes after fraud and corruption and does something about it.
Social programs do not condition all of the recipients to get lay back.  Yes a percentage do, but at least if the statistics gathered are accurate, 20 percent of those recipients are ashamed to have to receive them and more than 55 percent state they would prefer working to receiving hand outs.   Can I prove this, no wish I could.  of the remaining 45, that doesn't mean that 45 percent love staying home.  About 15 percent, feel its "owed" to them and its not there fault.
But social welfare is a small portion of the government budget.
Yet like most Americans, I do support getting the fraud out of those same percentages.  Like most humans  I resent some one getting something for nothing.
I also want the doctors who lie or cheat Medicaid falsely  prosecuted.  I want the corporate owners using those illegal aliens ( who are getting welfare ?? ) I want the owners jailed and fined.
I want the system fair, its not happening in my life time.  But if enough Americans make that the rally ,   BE FAIR ACROSS ALL CLASSES, it could happen in your life time or your child's.
I want it to start, but not with a sound bite
thank you for your comments.

If you deny something long enough, won't it go away??

Last winter in NY, as well as much of the country, was not much fun.  We were hammered by repeated snow storms, which the city of NY requires we home owners to clear the paths in front of our property.   And its not the best of idea's to stay home from work for 16 weeks waiting for it to melt.
While shoveling the white powdery "joy" from our paths, I don't remember how many times I heard various folk ask the rhetorical question,  "Where is this global warming every one is talking about ?"
When your looking at 7 foot mounds left to move, you don't don't give scientific answers. But the correct response is  " You are shoveling it now, this is your global warming "
Ah ha you say, well maybe you don't but if you did, Ah HA....   Forget the ahha folks.  Once again our government, our media has failed us.  You have to dig to get to the truth, and for a large part of society, if its not, "New Jersey Wives, living with the mob, on survivor island "  the public just isn't interested.
Global Warming makes a nice buzz word, but it doesn't explain what is really happening, ( beyond the obvious of the planet warming up)   Read deeper, and you will find, the rising temperatures, cause radical changes in the climate, which means  extreme swings. At least to start.   As the planet tries to get back to average, we humans experience extreme swings in temperature including the extreme cold and the storms of rain , snow, hail, etc.
Because of the 85 percent rule, the media doesn't try to equate, repeated snow falls, and blizzards to the warmer climate.    We haven't reached the point of no return YET.  The point of temperatures going up without coming back down.  So the planet tries to balance, or regulate temperatures, and the results are the extreme seasonal events.  Heat waves, cold waves, storms, and stupid jokes about "where is the global warming?"
Obama, and most of the Democrats are to damn chicken to lay out the truth to us.  Its not popular in an election year to tell folk, they are rapidly heading to the extinction of a major portion of the world population.   The republicans, won't say it because, it would agree with those liberal Democrats and pinko godless lefties.   The  Michele, Perry, and Cain  are talking directly to God, and are preparing for  "Almond GET Some "  when the Lord will come down and smit the devil, so they are no help.
Let us pretend that they are correct, ( their not but what the hell )  Lets just say so; pinko left wing terror loving scientist are just trying to get money and Global Warming is a fantasy !  ( which would mean even the Chinese are in on this one )
So if we let them thar scientist get away with this fantasy.  Un-employment would have another round of rising.  Because to comply with Green Rules, initially cost more.  Companies spending money on Green Initiatives, would probable lay off more workers.  For a while, about 5 years max, American Manufacturing would be trying to recoup cost and would be slowed down.  While the rest of the world surged ahead in manufacturing.  ( not true but we are pretending here )  during this time, jobs would go over seas ( I think that is happening right now any way !)   And Cambodians would be laughing at us, because we would be so destitute they could  laugh at us without fear.
But while this was happening, the United States would become energy independent.  That's right, the laid off oil and gas workers, would be rebuilding our energy grid.  Some one has to do it, and even before global warming it is agreed the grid needs to be redone.    The new transmission cables, carrying  power from, solar and wind farms, would need need to be installed.   And these energy farms need to be built.  Its not just solar cells and wind farms, but methods of storage.  We have tanks containing super heated sodium, vegetable oil, hydrogen cells.
Our transportation would be well on its way to bio-fuel operation, meaning we do NOT need oil of gas from the Middle East, from Mexico, Canada, Venezuela.  We would be growing our own "switch grass, soy beans, using animal fats, grease " to make fuel to run our cars, trucks, ships, planes.   If you read Oct 25ths blog, and you do a goggle search you will see this is slowly happening now.    Without importing  our energy needs, we wouldn't need to pay dictators for their fossil fuels.  Our Military would NOT need to fight to protect gas lines, and oil rigs.  For you die hard conservatives.  Our Military could extend our will without FEAR of cutting off our energy supply. The president and congress could decide to attack who ever you don't like, because we don't need their stinking oil !!!   How is that for a selling point.   And if we master green technology, don't you think other countries would want to buy into that??
By  reducing  human effects of global warming or by slowing it down, it would give the planet a chance to recover and return to a more stable climate conditions.
If you are concerned about the current energy providers, don't. Not so much concerned, but worried they will not let us switch our energy policy?    Let them buy the new companies and continue making billions, I don't care, and really you shouldn't.  Your paying them any way, now.   So if they can make the money without polluting the environment, Without using our military to protect there supply lines, who cares?   I don't care, and really you shouldn't care if Mobil makes 100 billion dollars in profits IF, they are not destroying the environment to do it, if the US Military has to protect shipping routes and ground convoys. Because you buy your gas and oil now.
But wouldn't it be nice to tell OPEC what they could do with their oil???
I don't know if this will stop the global warming, but using renewable, even the bio fuels, the waste gases released are equal to what gases/elements went into them to grow, so you don't increase the amount of green house gases, it remains zero.
So, if the Republicans are correct that global warming, global climate change is a phony myth, our worst case scenario is the United States becomes an energy independent power house starting in about 5 years and we have 5 years now getting there, of  bad bad times.  Right now we only have bad times.
But if the Republicans are wrong, and global warming caused or worsened by humans is REAL, the result is your grand children are lucky if they are dead !   Sound harsh?  Would you rather they watch several thousand miles of US coast line disappear under water?  Would you prefer if they have to fight in food and water wars for basic survival ?   You would rather see them, living in tent cities under attack from neighboring states.  Because with the rise in temperature, the seas raise, crop production fails in major food belts, technology will not be supported, and people get nasty under survival conditions.  You won't be able to afford the remaining medicine, and that is depending on if money even has value with a collapse like this.
I don't think humans will disappear, but for the next 20 years it will not be pretty.  You might want to watch little house on the prairie to learn how to survive.
But you get states like Texas, where evolution is considered a myth, and reports on Global warming are suppressed.  They must believe ; that if you deny global warming it will go away, much like telling a lie often enough a majority of people will believe the lie.   Global warming doesn't care if you believe in it or not.
Statistically most of us won't be here to say "I told you so"      How do you want to bet in this world wide gamble?

Why pay 20 percent tax when I can pay 9 percent ?

I had planned to write about global warming, but  Candidate Perry, is more fun.
If the republicans actually did do what they say they will do, I and my family would pay less FEDERAL taxes.  And that is a fact.   Boy that would be sweet.   I could run out and buy an American car made with Japanese , Chinese, Mexican parts, get a new washing machine, from a store with just above minimum wage and no benefits, the Washer is made in Mexico, if I'm lucky.
But wait, if the Federal Government is getting less money, than the State gets less money from the Federal Government. So where does the state and city get their money???  I know, they raise my taxes !!

The current tax laws on all levels need to be fixed.  The fact that you really need an accountant or lawyer to figure them out, speaks to an issue of over complexity.  However, we cannot escape, that as Americans, we expect certain services to be provided.  So we return to the question, which services don't you want?  Shall we cut out Medicaid?  How about medicare?  Hell with all that tax collection gone that should off set the cost of medical care.    How about not fixing roads and bridges, you don't need no roads or bridges, or wait, we can sell them and privatize them.
We all know how generous private businesses are in giving away free stuff,  and you wouldn't complain when there is a toll booth at each red light.
We don't need a military do we?  Or not a big one, hell, every American can get an M 16 and a hand grenade, and WE will protect our country.   But who goes over sees  to protect those private companies that now own America.
THERE ARE NO FREE RIDES !!!!!  There is no perfect form of government, no perfect tax system.
The republicans method of taxation would most likely be a huge help in  BOOM times.  When the economy is blasting along at 4 or 6 percent growth.  That's when a flat tax or a value added tax would actually help without destroying our economy.
Lets be clear, I favor privatizing Social Security, as a choice.  Give me the choice to either invest on my own or put into the government pot, but not now.   We aren't in shape to do it now. The flat tax would help me on the Federal level, but not state or city.
How can you pay the  9 9 9 tax rate and support our society?  We don't have enough money now.
Cut out waste and fraud, that is a great idea, but do it now with the current system.
Right now, as we speak, with the current tax structure about 45 percent of the Americans do not pay taxes.  Its not fraud, but with the laws, and rules they deduct themselves into  NO Taxes.
So these people making 15 to 20 thousand dollars a year will pay 9 percent or 20 percent. And this is gonna grow the economy?
Time for a little math, and this is estimates...after all, I am not a noble winning economist
The estimated budget , money we need to spend for 2012  is   3,729,000,000,000  that 3 trillion dollars in 2012 to keep our society going
The next estimate is that of the 300, million Americans  many are children, or people not in a position to pay taxes, so based on returns, there are about  142,000,000 of those folk who pay taxes.
If the current tax structure has half those people 76,000,000 paying lets use Mr. Perry's  20 percent
20 % of 25,000 ( which is a high number for this group )  that means they pay 5000 dollars each. Still leaving the rest of us to pay 3,349,000,000,000 dollars.  Oh we are going to cut government programs !!!
Which ones?  Privatize social security ?   Are we going to tax the money made on our privatized accounts.  Well if yes than the tax is NOT 20 percent.   How about cutting out  college grants ?   Road and bridge repair?   What are we cutting out.   We don't need a space program, let the Chinese do that, and we can lease space on their rockets,  cause YOU don't depend on satellites for your phones, TV, news, and media ?
Oh wait you do, and I'm sure the Chinese will give us this for free??  How about getting rid of those annoying police, and firemen, paramedics and ambulances ?   We'll get volunteers to work out of there homes. Of course that will make up the difference.
I know  close those department that give us and enforce all those stupid government regulations?  Because we know how private industry will protect our air, water, and land, the very dirt you stand on.
Without government regulations in the way, business will grow, and toxic dumping in the ponds and streams by your house wont happen will it ?   How about something as simple as, construction at midnight next to your home.  Hell, its a government regulation that prevents that, but pay those guys some over time and you don't mind a month of two of construction  at 2 am outside your window, you can live with that noise for a month or two.  You have 20 percent tax rate.
Of course with the reduction in government, those people getting aid who will not be getting aid any more, will just quietly disappear right.  They don't need food, medicine, housing, cause there will be plenty of jobs right.  Of course the taxes are low now ! and there are NOT plenty of jobs, but all that changes with the 20 percent tax code.   Those people won't turn to crime or violence when their survival is threatened.
But we can have more jails and striker laws....oh wait, the means the government has to grow ?  But it can't because we have a 20 percent tax code.  I know, we pay our police 30,000 dollars a year, and want ever bribes, kickbacks they get they only pay 20 percent taxes on.  Than who ever they kidnap they can pay a surcharge to supplement their incomes.
Water belongs with private industry, just ask the folks out in the mid west how that is working out.   Yes, we in the city pay tax for water, but they don't get to reduce our water because the aluminum company of a indo-agriculture company wants more water.
People, the tax codes sound great.  But if you are NOT dumber than a bunch of rocks, ask your self.
What government program gets cut ?  And before you say, you don't care, you really should see if that program, agency, department impacts you, your family, a close friend.
If its true, if you really believe, that the world is really all about me, and no one else matters. than you are right...than it doesn't matter...20 percent taxes, 9 percent,  no social security, it doesn't matter.
But I hope for all our sake  this is  a joke and you care about our society.  And if you care, take a closer look at what they are promising and HOW we get it.
